April Invitations

Spring is in full bloom.  Bursts of color dance around us.  There’s music in the air.  Master Works Theatre is blooming, too.  We have three concerts and a special event this month.

Thursday, April 7th at 7:30 – Michael Jefry Stevens will resume his Living Room Series with music that is “retrospective of his original music.”  This series is an informal conversation between Michael and those who gather to hear his music and his stories.  It’s a great time to ask questions, too.  The evening is free and open to the public.  A donation is appreciated by the artist.

Sunday, April 10th at 3:00 – Vinnie Grace Holman invites you to a “Psalm Celebration.”  This uplifting concert of “Psalms, Hymns and Songs of the Spirit” is free and open to the public.  A love offering will be received for “The Stream” which is a local retreat center.    For further information:  (828) 685-2577

Friday, April 15th at 7:00 – Shirley Gruenhut will present her “2nd Musical Show and Tell” in Hendersonville.  Shirley is a delightful new addition to our musical community.  You can read more about her on our Concert Calendar.  This concert is “A Chronological “Cruise” featuring baroque, classical, romantic, 20th C. and contemporary selections.  Joining her for a special selection is guitarist Steve Newbrough and percussionist Augustin Frederic.  The concert is free and open to the public.  Shirley would like donations to go to “Hearts for the Arts,” a non-profit organization supporting local young musicians.

Saturday, April 23 at 4:00 – Get ready for some BIG excitement.  Freeburg Pianos will be celebrating local piano teacher Frankie Harder’s 94th birthday!  Frankie has been teaching piano in Henderson County for over 40 years.   As part of our celebration, Frankie and five other pianists will bring smiles to our faces and tapping to our toes as they perform glorious Gospel music simultaneously!  You read that correctly.  We will have six pianos in position in our main showroom for all six pianists to play at the same time!  (I can hardly wait. I get excited just thinking about it.)  Please join us for music, fellowship and refreshments.

In case you are wondering:  When Master Works Theatre is not hosting a concert, it is used for community recitals, symphony rehearsals and competitions, and other programs.  We have some very interesting events coming soon.

We hope that you will join us for one or more of our April events.  You are always welcome at Master Works Theatre.

~Joann Freeburg
