La France en Amérique begins with “Solo Piano” by Christopher Tavernier, performing works by some of the Greatest French Composers of all time. Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré, and Camille SaintSaëns. After a brief intermission, The Mountain Chamber Quartet plays The Bolling Suite for Flute & Jazz Piano Trio No. 2 – With a Modern Swing of Elegant French Jazz. Performed by: Rita Hayes, Flute ▪ Christopher Tavernier, Piano ▪ Keith Freeburg, Double Bass ▪ Byron Hedgepeth, Drums

A Jazzy French Delight is a “crossover” composition by the jazz pianist and composer Claude Bolling. The composition, originally written in 1973, is a suite of seven movements written for classical flute, jazz piano, string bass, and drums. 

This suite was recorded in 1975 by Claude Bolling, classical flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal, bassist Max Hédiguer, and drummer Marcel Sabiani and originally released as an LP album by CBS Masterworks Records and Columbia Masterworks. In the US, the album was nominated in 1975 for a “Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance.”
