Dr. Joann Freeburg

Joann is passionate about life and learning. As a child and teenager, she learned to play piano, flute and cello, sang in choirs, read voraciously and taught Sunday School. Her continuous zeal for learning has resulted in a Bachelors’ Degree in Education/Foreign Languages, a Masters’ Degree in Christian Ministry, a Doctorate in Theology and various certifications. She has taught a wide variety of courses for all age levels including adults and special needs communities. Her gift for teaching, writing and inspirational speaking has opened the door for her to travel and help people around the world.

As co-owner of Freeburg Pianos in Hendersonville, Joann provides expertise and inspiration in long-range organizational planning, finance and communications. Joann is an associate pastor in her church and has served on several community board. She is currently serving on the Hendersonville Symphony board. She is the founder and CEO of The Music Foundation of WNC, a non-profit organization passionate about uniting the arts community by creating extraordinary educational and performance opportunities. The Music Foundation and Freeburg Pianos have collaborated to present numerous concerts featuring Christopher Tavernier and other artists as fundraisers for various organizations. Joann enjoys their three grandchildren, adventure, trying new things like hang-gliding, traveling, ballroom dancing and life at the lake. For Joann, life is truly “A Grand Experience.”
